( 3 / 55 )PTA CELEBRATES 45 YEARS!
Long gone are the days when Planned TV Arts (PTA) was a two man operation that didn't have desks but worked on top of doors! Mike Levine, one of the "Daddy's of PR" and mentor to dozens of PR practitioners, founded PTA 45 years ago, in 1962.
I joined Mike on December 1, 1976 after being a producer at the "Barry Farber Show" at WOR Radio. I went from the one being pitched to the one doing the pitching. And for a while it was just Mike and me. Over the years, PTA grew and some of our key people joined the company - Hillary Rivman who stayed with the company for 22 years and is still affiliated with PTA; David Thalberg who was here for 20 years and is still a great friend of the company, and David Hahn who came in 1986 and has been here for over 21 years. In 1990 Mike retired and in 1993 Planned TV Arts merged with Ruder Finn. In fact this week is our 14th Anniversary at Ruder Finn.
I am so proud of our management - The wonderful people we have here makes it fun to come to work every day. Not many companies have Senior Managers who have been with the company an average of 15 years! I would like to thank David Hahn (21 years), Deb Kohan (13 years), Sandy Trupp (11 years), Kristin Clifford (13 years), Paul Schwartz (15 years), Brian Feinblum (9 years), Sharon Farnell (10 years) and all of our amazing PTA staff.

Don't forget to send a thank you note!
I know it sounds crazy- but most people don't send a thank you note after they do a media interview...
Big mistake! Always send a note to the host and the producer.
In the note...
1- Thank them for having you on ( or for the interview)
2- Remember a specific item from the interview and talk about that
3- Give them your cell # and offer to be on anytime at the last minute
4- Tell how much fun you had on the show and how you got a great reaction
5- Ask them for a "testimonial" and ask them to send it to you on their stationary
6- Ask them for an mp3 of the show ( or a tear sheet if it is a print interview)
