Jericho Resident's Third Book in Bookstores
Now Syosset Jericho Tribune By Denise Nash
Jericho resident Rick Frishman started in the
world of publicity almost 30 years ago. After working as a producer
at WOR-AM, Frishman joined Planned TV Arts in 1976. At the time,
the company consisted of Frishman and his mentor, whom Frishman
bought out in 1990. In 1993, he sold the company to Ruder Finn and
he now serves as an executive vice president at the company.
He has worked with many of the top editors, agents
and publishers in America through his public relations work and
always dreamed of being an author himself. In 2000 that came true
when he co-authored a book entitled Guerrilla Marketing for Writers.
The book showed writers 100 ways to market their books, before and
after they are published.
His success continued when his second book Guerrilla
Publicity: Hundreds of Sure-Fire Tactics to Get Maximum Sales for
Minimum Dollars came out in 2002. This book helped publicity
seekers meet the challenge of a new decade in marketing, media relations
and promotions.
Now, he is at it again. He has taken his life
experiences and professional knowledge and put that all together
in a book entitled Networking Magic:
Find the Best- from Doctors, Lawyers, and Accountants to Homes,
Schools and Jobs, which was released by Adams Media Corp.,
and is available in book stores and on-line now.
Frishman started work on this book two years ago.
Although most people associate networking only with business related
issues, Frishman said that networking is an integral part of everyone's
lives.
Our whole premise is that networking is for everyone.
Every part of your life is affected by networking," said Frishman.
"The key is that people think of networking as getting something
from someone. It is exactly the opposite. The five main points that
we tell people about networking is give, give, give, give, give.
The more you give and the more you give lovingly without expecting
something in return, the universe gives it back to you ten times
more. Networking is all relationships and the more relationships
that you have where you can help people, more will come back. It
can change your life in every way."
The book is available at Borders and Barnes &
Noble and most bookstores and also at www.bn.com and www.amazon.com.
Frishman will also be participating in book signings around Long
Island. He will be at Borders Books & Music in Westbury on Sept.
